Hunan Fireworks and Firecracker Enterprises Suspend Production for Rectification
Reporters learned on the 5th from the Hunan Provincial Emergency Management Department that, effective immediately, all fireworks and firecracker enterprises in the province have suspended production for rectification to prevent and eliminate various safety hazards.
This production suspension and rectification will focus on production, operation, transportation, setting off, and export, with a focus on investigating and punishing enterprises for exceeding standards, subcontracting, producing and selling substandard or prohibited products, and independent production by multiple shareholders.
The “five batches” requirements will be strictly implemented: severely cracking down on a batch of illegal activities, closing down a batch of illegal businesses, cleaning up and destroying a batch of substandard or prohibited products, publicly exposing a batch of typical cases, and issuing notices and holding talks with a batch of regions with prominent problems, ensuring that illegal activities in the fireworks and firecracker industry are effectively rectified.
At the same time, drawing lessons from this incident, a comprehensive investigation and rectification of safety hazards will be carried out throughout the province, conducting a thorough investigation of key industries, plugging loopholes, strengthening accountability, and striving to improve the level of inherent safety, firmly adhering to the red lines and bottom lines.
