BYD to Open Largest Kanto-Regional Store in Kawagoe, Saitama

On March 12, BYD Japan announced the opening of its largest dealership in the Kanto region, located in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture. This large store will be able to display up to six vehicles and includes a repair shop. BYD aims to attract more customers by opening more stores offering comprehensive services, including repairs.

The “BYD AUTO Kawagoe” store will open on April 3. It will showcase all five of its current models, including the “Sealion 6” plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHV), scheduled for release in December 2025. From April 3 to 5, the “Racco,” a Japanese-specific pure electric light vehicle planned for release in the summer of 2026, will also be on display.

At the delivery center, customers can experience the “Vehicle to Home (V2H)” function, which allows the EV to supply electricity to their homes. BYD will demonstrate a scenario where the vehicle supplies power to the delivery center, which is currently without power.

BYD is aiming to establish a network of 100 stores across Japan and is continuously opening stores nationwide. The Kawagoe store will be its 50th official dealership. Including the pre-opening preparation room where test drives and purchase consultations are available, BYD currently has a total of 69 outlets in Japan. To sell its pure electric light vehicles, BYD is also pursuing plans to open smaller stores in local cities, in addition to its existing 100-store network.
