Egypt welcomes Indonesia to become full member of BRICS

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the 9th, welcoming Indonesia’s becoming a formal member of the BRICS.

The statement said that Indonesia’s becoming a formal member of the BRICS “builds another bridge” for cooperation between the two countries at all levels, both official and private. Egypt looks forward to Indonesia’s participation in all activities of the BRICS cooperation mechanism to enrich and strengthen cooperation in various fields of common concern. Egypt reiterated that BRICS members have similar positions and visions on many issues, especially in the fields of economic, financial and monetary cooperation.

As the rotating chair of the BRICS in 2025, Brazil announced on the 6th that Indonesia has become a formal member of the BRICS. On the 1st of this month, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Cuba, Bolivia and many other countries became BRICS partner countries.
