Iran’s Supreme Leader Rejects Peace Proposal with the United States

According to news reports, a senior Iranian official stated on the 17th that Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, rejected a proposal from the United States at a foreign affairs meeting to “de-escalate tensions or achieve peace,” rejecting a proposal submitted to the Iranian Foreign Ministry by two intermediary countries.

The senior Iranian official stated that Khamenei pointed out at the foreign affairs meeting that “now is not the time for peace,” and asserted that the United States and Israel must be defeated and pay reparations.
