Indian media reported that the Pakistani army opened fire on Indian army posts along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan in Kashmir on the evening of the 25th, and the Indian army responded immediately. Casualties have not yet been confirmed. Indian Army sources said that the small arms exchange was initiated by Pakistan and India responded “appropriately”.

An unnamed Pakistani military official denied the Indian media report in an interview with Xinhua News Agency on the 26th. He said that Pakistan did not open fire on the Line of Control between India and Pakistan in Kashmir on the evening of the 25th.

Pakistani and Indian officials said on the 25th that soldiers from the two countries exchanged fire in the Kashmir region in the early morning of the same day, and there were no reports of casualties.
