The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will be held on September 4
On August 23, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a media briefing to introduce the relevant situation of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit.
At the briefing, Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong introduced that the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit will be held in Beijing from September 4 to 6. Chinese and African leaders will discuss friendship, cooperation and the future around the theme of “jointly promoting modernization and building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future”.
Chen Xiaodong introduced that on the afternoon of the 5th, four high-level meetings will be held in parallel at the National Convention Center, with the topics of “governance”, “industrialization and agricultural modernization”, “peace and security” and “high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative”. These four major topics profoundly reflect the theme and requirements of the current era, embody the common concerns and expectations of China and Africa for modernization development, and are also the key directions for the construction of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in the new era.
Chen Xiaodong said that this forum summit is another grand reunion of the China-Africa friendly family after the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 2006 Beijing Summit, the 2015 Johannesburg Summit and the 2018 Beijing Summit. It is also the largest home diplomacy held by China in recent years with the largest number of foreign leaders attending.
