Sushiro Reaches 100 Stores in Mainland China
On April 27th, the Chinese subsidiary of Japanese restaurant operator FOOD&LIFE COMPANIES (F&LC) announced that Sushiro, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant chain, has reached 100 stores in mainland China. Sushiro has gained popularity among Chinese consumers due to its high cost-performance ratio, leading to the continuous expansion of its store network.
On April 25th, new stores opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province (inland China) and Guangzhou, Guangdong Province (southern China), respectively, achieving the goal of opening 100 stores. The new store in Chengdu is the city’s fourth and the first new store opened in approximately three years.
Sushiro opened its first store in mainland China in Guangzhou in 2021. After establishing a foothold in southern China, it opened stores in Chengdu and Chongqing (inland China), and plans to enter Beijing in 2024 and Shanghai in 2025. To date, Sushiro has stores in more than 20 cities.
According to reports, salmon, tuna, grilled eel, pork belly, shrimp, and seared foie gras are among the most popular items in terms of sales volume. Limited-edition menus are also available for different regions, and private rooms are provided to cater to families and groups of friends.
In March, F&LC announced the design of a new letter-based logo, “SUSHIRO,” for Sushiro’s overseas stores. Newly opened stores in mainland China have also begun using the letter-based logo.
