Attacks on UN Peacekeepers Are Unacceptable

International Business News  –  According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on the 5th that the foreign ministers of Turkey, Indonesia, and three other countries issued a joint statement declaring the attacks on UN peacekeepers unacceptable.

According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s announcement, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, and Australia issued a joint statement condemning, in the strongest terms, the killing of an Indonesian peacekeeper from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

The statement also expressed support for an immediate and transparent investigation into the attack. It added that UN peacekeepers and aid workers “must never be targeted,” and that attacks on these personnel violate international law and are unacceptable.

In late March, both Indonesia and UN Secretary-General Guterres strongly condemned the attack that killed an Indonesian peacekeeper in Lebanon.
