Trump restores death penalty at federal level

Stephen Miller, deputy director of the White House Office of Chief of Staff, said on the 20th that President Trump has terminated all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in the federal government and resumed the death penalty at the federal level.

Miller said at a regular press conference on the 20th: “(Trump) has terminated all DEI policies in the federal government. The death penalty is back.”

US media reported that these measures of the Trump administration have been sharply criticized by equal rights activists. They believe that DEI policies will help address the inequality suffered by people of color in the United States. At the same time, the media cited relevant research and expert opinions that at the federal level, the death penalty disproportionately affects African-American prisoners.
