TikTok Shop Brazil and Japan will open in April and June
TikTok Shop accelerates global layout.
According to industry sources, TikTok Shop Brazil will open in April, with the first batch of targeted invitations to local sellers. TikTok Shop Brazil and Mexico are managed by the same team. The first batch of sellers’ qualifications are similar to those in the Mexican market. The full hosting model has no plans to open due to tariffs and other issues.
TikTok Shop Japan will also open in June this year, with the first batch of local corporate stores and local personal stores. Information on potential merchants is currently being collected. Relevant industry insiders predict that beauty and skin care, and pet products will be popular tracks for Japanese sites.
In addition to Brazil and Japan, TikTok Shop is also further expanding its European footprint, opening sites in Germany, France and Italy. At present, the entry requirements are limited to locally registered companies, but TikTok said that these three sites will soon be open to independent sellers. At the end of last year, TikTok Shop took the lead in opening sites in Spain and Ireland in Europe, but it was an internal beta invitation system and has not yet been fully opened.
At present, TikTok Shop has launched its delivery service (FBT) in the German market to help sellers complete inventory management and order processing. In Spain, TikTok has also started recruiting employees for logistics positions. It is expected that in the future, FBT logistics services will also be launched in other markets such as France and Italy.
Earlier, according to LatePost, TikTok e-commerce achieved sales of more than US$40 billion in 2024, with an increase in Southeast Asian market share and the United States performing below expectations. In the new year, the TikTok e-commerce team has set a growth target of nearly 100%, among which the US market is the most expected, with a growth target of nearly 200%.
A TikTok e-commerce person said that this goal has a core premise, that is, TikTok can continue to operate in the United States in the future. If TikTok eventually has to withdraw from the United States, the focus of the e-commerce team will shift to Southeast Asia, which is the most important market for TikTok e-commerce besides the United States and currently generates the most sales for TikTok e-commerce.
