Musk supports the US withdrawal from NATO and the United Nations

He wrote: “I agree” when forwarding a post that read “It’s time to withdraw from NATO and the United Nations”.

The report said that Musk’s statement is consistent with the calls from politicians including Republican Senator Mike Lee of Utah for the United States to reconsider its commitment to NATO. Mike Lee has long criticized NATO, calling it a “relic of the Cold War” and believing that NATO “must stop”. He claimed that NATO is a good deal for Europe but an “unfair deal” for the United States, believing that US resources are being used to protect Europe without much direct benefit to US security.
