South Korea will close 49 primary and secondary schools in 2025
The latest data released by the South Korean government shows that due to a shortage of students, 49 primary and secondary schools in South Korea will be closed this year, and at least 120 primary schools are facing a “zero new students” situation.
South Korean media reported on the 23rd that the South Korean Ministry of Education released the above data at the request of members of the Democratic Party of Korea, the country’s largest opposition party. The data shows that 49 primary and secondary schools in 17 regions will be closed this year, including 38 primary schools, 8 junior high schools and 3 high schools.
