A Chinese tourist died in Japan
According to Japanese media reports, a Chinese tourist in his 40s died at the Yakeiyama ski resort in Shiga Kogen, Nagano Prefecture on the 20th.
According to reports, at around 4 pm that day, the ski resort patrol received a call from a Chinese tourist saying that he had lost contact with his companions and could not be contacted. At around 6:30 that evening, the patrol team found the body of the missing Chinese tourist in the forest about 600 meters northeast of the top of the mountain. He was wearing skis and most of his body was buried in the snow. The police are currently investigating the details of the incident.
In recent years, many Chinese tourists have died while skiing in Japan. In December 2024, a 32-year-old Chinese male tourist died at a ski resort in Nagano Prefecture. In December 2023, a 27-year-old Chinese female tourist died at a ski resort in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture.
