German Chancellor Candidate: Strive to End Sanctions on Russia

Alice Weidel, co-chair of the German far-right Alternative for Germany and candidate for German Chancellor, said that the party hopes to establish “very good relations” with Russia, and also strive to end the sanctions policy against Russia, because the sanctions first harm Germany itself.

In an interview with Bild, she said: “We want to maintain good relations with our European neighbors, but we also want to maintain good relations with major powers, including Russia. We want to end the sanctions policy because it first harms our country. Our energy prices are the highest in the world, and we are no longer competitive.”

According to the latest poll by German TV II, in the early German federal elections on February 23, the support rate of the German Choice Party was 20%, and it may become the second most popular party in Germany.
