TSMC’s 4nm chip mass production

After TSMC’s first wafer fab in Japan began mass production at the end of 2024, TSMC’s US fab also officially joined the production.

According to Reuters, on January 10, local time, US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo confirmed that TSMC’s wafer fab (Fab 21) Phase 1 in Phoenix, Arizona, has begun producing 4nm chips for US customers in recent weeks.

Taiwan’s “Commercial Times” said on the 12th that on the 16th of this month, TSMC will hold its first legal briefing in 2025, which will be hosted by Chairman Wei Zhejia. In addition to reviewing the performance in 2024, it is more important to release the operating outlook for the new year. According to reports, some foreign investors are conservative about TSMC’s first quarter of 2025, believing that the US sanctions ban needs to be taken into consideration, and are particularly worried about the impact of the ban expanding to 16 nanometers on revenue.
