BYD cars start pre-sales in Kazakhstan in January

Astana Motors has postponed the opening of the official representative office of the Chinese automobile company BYD (BYD) in Kazakhstan to February 2025. Cars are scheduled to start pre-sales in January, and sales at the dealer center are scheduled to open in February.

According to reports, the BYD dealership center will open on Al-Farabi Street in Almaty in January 2025. Four brand showrooms will be opened in Almaty and Astana in January-February, two each in Almaty and Astana.

Anton Kushch, the director of BYD (Kazakhstan) dealership, noted that the dealer is fully prepared and a team including certified service experts has been established. Original spare parts and the first cars are expected to be delivered in the near future. Information about the start of pre-orders will be released in the media and social networks.

Earlier, Nurlan Smagulov, owner of the Astana Group (including Astana Automobile), said at an event in October that sales would start on December 15. BYD Song Plus and Han will appear on the Kazakhstan market. Currently, the electric version of the Song is sold for 9 million to 16.5 million tenge on the Kazakhstan used car market, and the Han is sold for 10 million to 20 million tenge.

Chinese car brands that have set up representative offices in Kazakhstan include: Haval, Jetour, Chery, Jac, Changan and Geely. There are also cars of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, whose distributor is Aster.
