Bullpenis smuggling into China

In August this year, the Maoming Coast Guard Police Station in Guangdong, China, uncovered a case of suspected smuggling of frozen goods and seized a wooden fishing boat suspected of smuggling. About 36 tons of frozen goods were seized on site.

The 36 tons of smuggled frozen products turned out to be frozen cattle penises and cattle louvers.

Bullpenis is the male reproductive organ of cattle. Bullpenis has the effect of aphrodisiac, can nourish the kidneys and yang, and is mainly used to treat kidney deficiency, impotence, spermatorrhea, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees.

However, judging from the amount of smuggling in this case, there are many people who believe that Bullpenis can aphrodisiac, or simply want to eat it for novelty, so many people buy Bullpenis to enjoy it, and even need to smuggle it.

Many agricultural products have price inversions at home and abroad. Smuggling them in can make them cheaper, not to mention the cost of quarantine is also saved.

Even live cattle are smuggled. From 2016 to 2018, a gang purchased live cattle from Vietnam, smuggled them into China via land and then sold them to Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places. The amount involved was more than 250 million yuan.

In the two months since March 2020, the Shunde Anti-Smuggling Branch has seized three high-horsepower “Zhongfei” ships with 700, 750 and 1050 horsepower, and seized nearly 9 tons of frozen products such as beef and Bullpenis for smuggling.

In addition to Hong Kong, there are also some places that are also important transit points for smuggling. For example, in 2019, the Shijiazhuang Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau seized more than 1,500 tons of frozen products prohibited from import by the country, such as beef, beef tendon, tripe, and cattle whip, in Caofeidian Port Area of Tangshan Port, with a case value of approximately 50 million yuan.

The frozen goods were smuggled to China by sea from the South Korean port of Busan.

The origin is as far away as Brazil, where beef is cheaper.

For example, in 2020, the Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Guangzhou Huangpu Customs busted a huge smuggling gang and verified that it was suspected of smuggling more than 10,000 tons of frozen products with a case value of about 1 billion yuan. It also seized 4,592 tons of frozen beef, frozen chicken feet, and frozen pork belly involved in the case.

When asked the question “Do you think this is safe to eat?”, the suspect replied: “I won’t eat it.”
