Wang Yi: G7 statement on Taiwan is invalid
Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in an exclusive interview with China Radio in Cambodia that China resolutely opposes the so-called Taiwan-related “statement” issued by the Western G7 because it confuses right and wrong, reverses black and white, and blatantly opens the eyes of those who violate the law while exerting pressure on those who defend their rights.
“Where is the justice? Where are the basic norms of international relations? ‘Non-interference in internal affairs’ is the most basic principle for maintaining world peace and stability, and we cannot allow the law of the jungle to dominate state-to-state relations again.”
“I believe that this so-called ‘statement’ is just a piece of scrap paper. More than 100 countries have come forward to express their adherence to one China, and the United Nations has also made a statement that they will continue to adhere to Resolution 2758. I believe this is the true common voice of the international community. “
