Toyota’s July global production is expected to be 800,000 vehicles
Toyota Motor Corporation announced on the 22nd that global production in July is expected to be around 800,000 vehicles. Suppliers in Shanghai, China, were affected by the shortage of parts due to the occurrence of new crown infections. The production volume of the suppliers notified at the beginning of the year decreased by about 50,000 units, compared with more than 770,000 units in the same month last year.
Toyota has maintained a global production plan of about 9.7 million vehicles in 2022, with an average of about 850,000 vehicles per month from July to September. Of the global production in July, about 250,000 vehicles were produced in Japan and about 550,000 vehicles abroad.
In addition, it was newly decided to set a 10-day shutdown day from July 4 to 22 for four production lines at two domestic factories at the Motomachi Plant (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture) and the Takaoka Plant (the same city). The above-mentioned factories produce the new pure electric vehicle (EV) “bZ4X”, sports utility vehicle (SUV) “Lingfang” and so on.
Toyota announced on the 16th that Toyota Motor East Japan’s Iwate Plant (Kanazaki-cho, Iwate Prefecture) and Miyagi Ohiro Plant (Ohiro Village, Miyagi Prefecture) and other 11 production lines in seven domestic plants will be suspended for a maximum of six days from July 1 to 8.
